Traditional Hunter Safety Education
This course is offered at the PRGC for 5 consecutive evenings: 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
The class is open to all California residents who wish to obtain a California Hunting License
Children must be 12 to obtain a license to hunt deer.
Younger children can hunt pheasant, duck, etc.
Please consult current California game laws before registering.
Hunter Safety Cost is $5.00
Handgun Safety Certificate: fee $25.00
International Bowhunter Education: fee $20.00

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has an Internet based program to improve access to Hunter Education and Certification. The student studies the online course material at their own pace and schedule. When they have completed the pre-certification exam, they are eligible to take the written examination class (4 hours) at the PRGC.
Please note that the California Pre-Certification Exam Voucher must be completed prior to attending the class. Pre-registration is recommended. There is no minimum age requirement for this course. Classes meet Saturday morning.

A two night Home Study\Internet follow-up class is available. The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursday, for two hours each night.
