The Pacific Rod & Gun Club boasts a 50 foot indoor .22 rifle range with 6 firing positions. The range is also compatible with the firing of pellet rifles. The range is available to members and their guests at prearranged times.
Additionally, several rifle clubs rent the range for the use of their club members during the evening from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Currently the Golden Gate Rifle Club, the Olympic Rifle Club, the Pacific Gas and Electric Rifle Club, the University of San Francisco Rifle Club and a Teamsters’ Retirement Group use the rifle range on a weekly or monthly basis.
The rifle range is also used on a regular basis during the school year by the Civilian Marksmanship Program under the supervision of Colonel Joseph Mucelli. Students from San Francisco public high schools are trained in shooting and gun safety here. This program has ben an ongoing success for many years.
The Pacific Junior Rifles meet here on a regular basis on the first and third Saturday each month from 11am to 3pm. This program is for youngsters under 19 years of age. It teaches shooting and firearm safety as well as competitive shooting skills. This program is voluntarily coached by David Lee of the University of San Francisco.
