Pacific Junior Rifles

The Pacific Rod & Gun Club has an indoor small caliber rifle range that is largely dedicated to various youth groups. Only .22 caliber rifles and pellet rifles are allowed. No pistols of any kind are allowed.

The Club sponsors a junior rifle program administered by Coach David Lee of the University of San Francisco. Coach Lee has undertaken this duty on a completely voluntary basis.

The Pacific Junior Rifles Club meets on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 11:00am to 3:00p.
While juniors (under age 19) may shoot just for fun, the emphasis of the instruction is on knowledge of the construction and function of rifles, the safety and discipline required for successful shooting, and the proper positions for competitive shooting. The NRA advancement program is also offered. Safety is of primary importance.

All equipment (rifles, jackets, slings, gloves, ear and eye protection, mats, targets, and ammunition) is provided for a $20* yearly membership fee.

Parents may contact David Lee via email to enroll their daughters or sons in the Pacific Junior Rifles program. Coach Lee is ably assisted by Irene Sheynis. Irene is a “graduate” of the Pacific program and has returned after her college years to volunteer as a coach.
