Youth Shotgun Training Program

The Club sponsors the San Francisco Youth Shotgun Program. This is a one day class which teaches juniors the basics of the safe handling of a shotgun and safe target shooting skills. The child has the opportunity to shoot a shotgun in a safe environment, and there is no fee for this class. “Graduates” of the class are invited to return to the club in the future to improve upon their skills. The young lady in the photo above was a student in the first youth class. Here she is shooting a round with her father (wearing the black and white cap in the background.

A parent or adult supervisor is asked to attend this first class with their daughter or son. When considering whether your child would like to participate, consider whether or not he or she is mature enough and big enough to pay attention, follow directions, and handle a shotgun. Of course, the child should want to take part.
